We’re now counting the sleeps until The Cape Town Wedding Festival and also our screening of the Royal Wedding. We’re very excited about the event and can’t even begin to imagine how the royal couple must be feeling. Let’s face it, I can’t think of any of any other couple who, in addition to having 1900 guests, will also have an estimated two and a half billion people (that’s a third of the world’s population) watching them exchange their wedding vows!
We’re sure, with the help of Buckingham Palace, that all the preparations for the big day are complete and likewise we’re now finalising our plans for our one day Festival. While putting together the final floor plan of the marquee, I realised how incredibly fortunate we are to have so many of the top names in the Cape Town wedding industry exhibiting at the Festival this year. The exhibitors have been very generous and the prizes that are on offer in our Royal Occasion Competition are truly awesome. The competition is only open to visitors to the festival and you’ll find a full list of what you can win on the festival website www.capetownweddingfestival.co.za.
In addition to the royal wedding being shown live on two big screens, we have also this week received a DVD ( it’s just been released in London) showcasing British Royal Weddings of the 20th century and we will be screening this after the Royal Wedding.
Plus, visitors will receive a Commemorative Showguide, a wonderful keepsake of this special occasion.
We are putting together a beautiful coffee table book on Cape Town which we will be sending to Prince William and Kate. All visitors to the Festival are invited to send them their good wishes by signing the Guest Pages at the back of the book.
So put on your waterproof mascara, gather your friends and tissues and join us on Friday 29th April for our day of happy royal celebrations!
