Did you watch the royal wedding? Were you impressed with the dress? We did and we were! We were delighted with the style chosen by Kate as being huge fans of Grace Kelly, we always felt that the style of Grace’s wedding dress would suit Kate’s slenderness and provide an understated elegance.
It was wonderful watching the wedding on very big screens at The Cape Town Wedding Festival and I still get goose bumps when I think of how when Kate alighted from the car at the Abbey you could have heard a pin drop in the large Waterfront Lookout venue. I spoke to a Marriage Officer who was present at the Festival and he commented on how great it was to see how much time and thought had gone into the planning of the wedding ceremony. He said he was often saddened by the fact that many couples spent more time planning the good time they were going to have at the reception instead of giving more thought to the actual ceremony.
As a gift to the royal couple we are compiling a coffee table book containing photos of both Cape Town and of the Festival. Included in the book will be the good wishes of those attending the Festival as well as those from some well-known Capetonians. If you attended the Festival and did not have a chance to provide us with the good wishes you would like us to include, please let us have these as soon as possible.
I have no doubt that the royal wedding will have an impact on future weddings worldwide. I am also sure that after all the favourable comments Kate’s sister Pippa, (her matron of honour), received on facebook, bridal attendants worldwide are going to be begging to wear a dress like hers!
Did the royal wedding inspire you with your wedding planning? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
